Who doesn’t want good skin? In the summer months feeling good in your own skin just makes your daily routine a whole lot easier. Less make-up, less chance of it sweating off! Not only that but wearing less make-up can improve your skin greatly and cost a lot less. Having an excellent exfoliator that suit your skin type is essential when taking care of your skin.
Whether you have dry, oily, patchy or suffer from redness there is a remedy for you. At Enhanced Aesthetics we are not only experienced in facials and skin treatments. We make it a priority to ensure we keep up to date with all skincare trends just for you and your skin.
Our favourite at home exfoliators
You should never skip a step in your daily skincare routine, especially your exfoliator. There are many different opinions on exfoliating. Some say you shouldn’t exfoliate everyday as it can be harsh on your skin while others say it is the most important step. We are here to clear up any misconceptions.
Using exfoliator on your skin is a key step if you wish to have glowing, vibrant and smooth skin. Exfoliating is not just to be done when you have been wearing makeup all day or you want to remove the last of the weekend’s fake tan. By exfoliating your skin you are getting rid of all of your dead skin cells and top layer of your skin to let the skin breath and to help cell turnover.
To ensure your skin is glowing, smoother, appears lighter and feels fresh – DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP.
Our top picks for your exfoliating routine are:
- St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub
- No.7 Radiant Results Revitalising Daily Face Polish
- The Body Shop Seaweed Pore-Cleansing Facial Exfoliator
- SUKI Rescue Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser
If you prefer a more natural, eco-friendly and creative way to keep your skin glowing, there are some homemade exfoliator scrubs you can make! You do not need any fancy equipment or expensive tools. All you need is a mixing bowl, some measuring cups and spoons, a liquid or cream base and the ingredients you want to use.

The Cure for Blackheads
Lemon juice has antiseptic properties that aid in killing off bacteria. It’s also great for reducing sebum and inflammation. This treatment can make your skin extra sensitive to the sun, so always apply sunscreen afterward to protect against UV damage.
½ tsp lemon
1 tbsp salt
1 tsp purified/distilled water
Mix the ingredients well and rub the paste onto skin in a circular motion. Gently scrub for two to three minutes, being careful not to rub too hard. Rinse off with warm water and follow with the rest of your skincare routine.
Keep your skin glowing
Coffee isn’t just for drinking! Give your complexion a jolt of caffeine for a quick brightening boost. Coffee has many rejuvenating benefits for skin—it instantly wakes up your face while gently exfoliating.
1/2 cup freshly ground coffee
1/2 cup yogurt or milk
1 tbsp of honey
Mix ingredients together and gently smooth onto skin. Rinse with warm water.
